This script is capable to download and install the most recent GitHub desktop version for your Linux system. It is also able to update and uninstall GitHub desktop. By default, the script will automatically check if an update is available. The script works with deb and rpm packages. If your system does not use deb or rpm packages, it will fall back to the available AppImage.
The installation script will be downloaded with curl and afterward executed.

The project came to life as a result of berkorbay's presumably discontinued gist page, which can be viewed here.
