It's unclear to me whether Atlantis is not dealing with some kind of negotiation process properly or this is on blaseball-over-telnet's server.

I've never had this happen in Atlantis no matter what I've connected to, so without anymore information, I'm inclined to think blaseball-over-telnet isn't handling something according to protocol.
