  • Install XUbuntu
  • Learn about APT. Here and there
  • Install Kitty terminal emulator
  • Install Google Chrome but scroll to the section "Install Google Chrome on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS from the Command Line" and use it. No GUI-based install, please
  • Install Git from PPA
  • Install VS Code using this instruction, but without downloading *.deb file so find the line "The repository and key can also be installed manually with the following script:" and go from there

P.S. You may try using scripts @RootenberG works on right now, but they may be incomplete: kpi-web-guild/devspace#6

Items 2-6 are done. Using OS X instead of XUbuntu

The point of this task is to learn how to install things from the terminal. We may need to have a GNU/Linux VM for future if we go as far as web-app deployment.

Got it, thanks. I have some experience installing apps and packages using pip and homebrew.
