Homeassistnt - change msl120d RGB colors with a gradient

Hi,
I am quite newbie in homeassistant, I have bought a Meross Light RBG Bulb and I have succesfully create an automation for color switch using scenes.
I have create different scenes with differnet colours and then create an automation that every 10 seconds change the scene starting 30 minutes after sunset

Hello @lor74,
I don't really know for sure but I think you might take a look at adaptive lighting which could give you direct control of transitions.
Meross bulbs/lamps atcually have some native transition features (at least some hw/fw combo) but I don't know how they could work so I cannot implement a native feature management in meross_lan.

Hi Krahabb thanks for your suggestion.
In the meantime I have changed the logic of automation using light.turn_on service.
I have create an input_select withe several colours and than use this to change the bulb color.
The light.turn_on service has also a transition parameter but it seems not working on Meross bulb, changing the value didn't change the behaviour of color change.

At the moment I'm a bit busy on a lot of stuff in meross_lan and I can't deeply inspect what's the meaning of the 'transition' parameter in the service and why this isn't working for meross_lan. Usually, if the device doesn't expose a feature, the HA light platform is rich enough to compensate this and try to emulate the desired behavior with its own code (for transitions it could try calculate the 'trajectory' and then, in the background, keep sending the calculated updated light values to the underlying implementation). This happens for example for color space conversion (translating an HSV value to an RGB one if the device only understands RGB for example)

thanks again for your quick reply. Searching in the home assistant forum I have found that the transition seems to not working on several bulbs... so should not be an issue related to meross_lan. So don't wast your time :)

If light.toggle service is invoked when the light is turned off the transition is smooth... but I guess in this case is a britghness reduction.

I have create an input_select array with RGB color values (decrementing/incrementig value by 5) and the now the colours transiction are quite smooth.
