After installing via make and make install, suspend button does not show up

I installed this extension by downloading this project as a zip file, extracting it, and running make and make install per the instructions in the README. However, after rebooting my computer, I do not see a suspend button in the status menu.

When I lock my account and go to the lock screen, I do see a suspend button in the status menu. However, I do not know if that suspend button was present before I installed this extension, and I do not know how to uninstall this extension to see if that suspend button showing up is due to this extension or not.

How do I get the suspend button to show up in the status menu when I am logged into my account? I am on Ubuntu 18.04
