dblfnote does not work anymore, if you just uncomment the line
\usepackage{dblfnote}
in preambel/packages_and_options.tex
and add something like \footnote{test} to content/kapitel2.tex,
pdflatex shows the following error:

(/usr/share/texlive/texmf-dist/tex/latex/bera/t1fvm.fd))
(./content/kapitel2.tex [7] [8]

) (./content/zusammenfassung_und_ausblick.tex

Maybe, I did something wrong, but with a recent MiKTeX installation, it also doesn't work with old versions of the template such as 79f48af (dated 2013-01-18).

Do you have time to create a MCVE? Then we can track down which package breaks dblfnote.

The command \VerbatimFootnotes (@ ausarbeitung.tex Line 126 ) is the problem.

I had the same issue at another setting - \VerbatimFootnotes was not the issue. Still searching for a solution though.

Maybe, we should use other footnote packages. See latextemplates/LNCS#20 for a discussion on them.
