Description

If user moves note (which was opened in a separate window) to a different notebook, then the separate window switches focus to a different note

Current behaviour

  1. Create note1 and note2 in the same notebook
  2. Open note1 in a separate window
  3. Move note1 to different notebook
  4. Observe that separate window displays note2 instead of note1
Screencast.from.2025-01-26.16-23-43.webm

Notes

  • If notebook contains only one note that is opened in new window, moving this note results in new window unloading it and displaying empty grey window

Image

  • Safe mode doesn't change the behaviour

Expected behaviour

When moving note that is opened in separate window, keep separate window's focus on the same note

I notice the sync is currently downloading changes in the background while you are moving notes. This may cause issues if you move 1 or more notes to another notebook while you have not yet synced the latest changes. Does the issue still occur if the sync has successfully completed before you move any notes?

Yep, sync process has no effect on the behaviour. Originally I observed the behaviour on fully synced profile but to avoid exposing personal data I recorded the screencast on test profile where sync is intentionally difficult to perform fully.
