The 'Update available' message at the top of the screen does not appear when a new version is available.

@kyranjamie any ideas on the top of your head as to what could be happening? And could it be related to #1240 in that something is off as far as reporting the latest version via GitHub's API?

Perhaps the repo name/org hadn't been updated and was pointing to Hiro still.
