when ever i run it and click apply it says "failed to load or initialize DLL. This probably means that a LUT file is malformed or that DWM got updated." i have uninstalled it and reinstalled it. i am not good at stuff like this and I'm not sure what to do if anyone knows how to help please lmk. thank u

Compatibility depends on the operating system version. You should download and try other versions from https://github.com/ledoge/dwm_lut/releases and https://github.com/lauralex/dwm_lut/releases (if your Windows 10 version is more recent than version 22H1 or if you use Windows 11). I can tell for sure that version 3.8 from this repository works with Windows 10, version 21H2.
