Q: Where are the downloaded files stored?

A: The plugin saves the files in the main file directory that can be set in the preferences of JabRef.
If a per-database specific file directory is set, it is preferred over the global setting.
The filename consists of the BibTeX key plus the extension ".pdf".
Q: I need to use a proxy server to obtain access to an online journal pdf file. How do
I configure JabRef to use a proxy server?

A: If you want to use, e.g., a SOCKS proxy, run JabRef with the following command line
java -DsocksProxyHost=host -DsocksProxyPort=port -jar JabRef-X.jar ,
where host and port give the hostname and port number of your SOCKS proxy and X
is the JabRef version you are using.
