Hey,

I recently got a second sim to use the builtin simslot. Are there any plans to support the Quectel EM05-G on a T14s (AMD, 3rd gen)?

Hi @drahnr - Thank you for reaching out and apologize for late reply due to holiday in Japan.
As of now, there is no plan to support Quectel EM05-G on a T14s for Linux .
Enablement is done on a platform/modem combination. There are a number of extra system unique tests that take time and are required (RF testing etc). We haven't been able to enable WWAN for the whole Linux certified portfolio and the T14s AMD 3rd gen was not in the initial group approved.
We're looking to extend the scope, now we have it working on some platforms, but have to balance it against resources available. We and are doing that based on demand and what the test teams can accommodate.
Thanks for letting us know the T14s Gen3 would be of interest!

I am also using a T14s Gen 4 with the Quectel EM05-G Modem. Would love to use a sim card in my laptop.

It appears I got it to work on fedora 39 x86_64, scattered details can be found under: https://konifay.io/blog/2024-0001-quectel/
