Windows for ARM compatibility? #272
Comments
Cmder and the dependencies have been working for ARM support (mostly @chrisant996's valued work) for a while now: If you're still on ARM64, we'll appreciate your valued feedback if you could please test out the latest unreleased builds of Cmder there and open issues that you might see. The 32bit x86 will be getting dropped in either Cmder 1.4.x or Cmder 2.0 in favor of ARM64. |
As it can't be fixed from Laragon. That's why I'll close this issue. Unfortunately, Cmder ARM support doesn't seem to be solved. Meanwhile, maybe Microsoft Terminal is an upcoming candidate. There's a store version, too. https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9n0dx20hk701 |
We at Cmder are also considering moving away from ConEmu to Windows Terminal. https://github.com/orgs/cmderdev/discussions/2864#discussioncomment-7090918 It would be beneficial to include WT version of Cmder in Laragon, because of the included Clink and its completion utilities. We also have Powershell and bash profiles. If you are considering this, using git submodules would be beneficial, instead of using a modified version of Cmder, that way Laragon users can benefit from updates to Cmder profiles. |

For context, I'm running Windows 11 for ARM through Parallels on my M1 Macbook. Most things seem to work fairly well, except Cmder isn't compatible with ARM. Maybe it would be worthwhile to document Windows for ARM compatibility in the Laragon docs?
