The RF9536-N supports routing. This allows the device to communicate using other routing enabled devices as intermediate routers. This device is also able to participate in the routing of data between other devices in the mesh network.

Overview

  • ASPIRE RF Dimmers replace regular switches to provide local and remote ON/OFF/DIM/BRIGHT control and are compatible with Incandescent, Magnetic Low-Voltage lighting loads.
  • ASPIRE RF Dimmers provide other programmable functions (scenes, events, association, child lockout, etc.) when used with ASPIRE RF or other Z-Wave compliant controllers*. Each dimmer can be manually and remotely controlled by commands sent from an ASPIRE RF controller (RFTDCSG, RFHDCSG, RFBER) or other Z-Wave compatible controllers or programs.
  • ASPIRE RF Dimmers utilize existing 120V/AC, 60Hz standard house wiring and fit into standard wallboxes. No new wiring needed.

(*Note: some specific ASPIRE RF features may not be programmable)

Inclusion Information

Press the device switch one time to include it in the network. The LED will stop blinking.

Exclusion Information

Press the device switch one time to exclude it in the network. The LED will start blinking.

The scene_number channel is of type scene_number and supports the Number item.

Dimmer Ramp Time

Generic class for configuration parameter.

The config_decimal channel is of type config_decimal and supports the Number item.

Alarm

Indicates if an alarm is triggered.

The alarm_general channel is of type alarm_general and supports the Switch item and is in the Alarm category. This is a read only channel so will only be updated following state changes from the device.

The following state translation is provided for this channel to the Switch item type -:

Value Label
OFF OK
ON Alarm

Local Device Protection

Sets the local protection mode.

The protection_local channel is of type protection_local and supports the Number item. The following state translation is provided for this channel to the Number item type -:

Value Label
0 Unprotected
1 Protection by sequence
2 No operation possible

Indicator Light Control

Sets the indicator brightness.

The indicator_level channel is of type indicator_level and supports the Dimmer item.

Device Configuration

The following table provides a summary of the 10 configuration parameters available in the RF9536-N. Detailed information on each parameter can be found in the sections below.

Param Name Description
1 Delayed OFF time time in seconds to delay OFF
2 Panic ON time Time in seconds for panic mode ON
3 Panic OFF time time in seconds for OFF in panic mode
4 Basic Set Value Send value to association group on trigger
5 Power Up State Power Up State of the switch
6 Panic mode enable Enables this switch to participate in panic mode
7 Dimmer Ramp Time Time in seconds to reach desired level
8 Kickstart / Rapid Start Turn on or off rapid start feature
11 Minimum Dimmer Level The minimum dim level the switch will allow
12 Maximum Dimmer Level The maximum dim level the switch will allow
Switch All Mode Set the mode for the switch when receiving SWITCH ALL commands

Parameter 1: Delayed OFF time

time in seconds to delay OFF The amount of time in seconds the switch will delay when trigger the delayed off feature Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_1_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 2: Panic ON time

Time in seconds for panic mode ON The amount of time in seconds the switch will turn on for when panic mode is triggered Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_2_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 3: Panic OFF time

time in seconds for OFF in panic mode The amount of time in seconds the switch will turn off for when panic mode is triggered Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_3_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 4: Basic Set Value

Send value to association group on trigger Setting this to anything other than 0 will cause the value to be transmitted to devices in the association group when the switch is triggered. A setting other than 0 will likely result in undesired operation Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_4_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 5: Power Up State

Power Up State of the switch

The following option values may be configured -:

Value Description
1 Off
2 On
3 Last State

The manufacturer defined default value is 1 (OFF).

This parameter has the configuration ID config_5_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 6: Panic mode enable

Enables this switch to participate in panic mode

The following option values may be configured -:

Value Description
1 Off
2 On

The manufacturer defined default value is 1 (OFF).

This parameter has the configuration ID config_6_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 7: Dimmer Ramp Time

Time in seconds to reach desired level The amount of time in seconds the switch will take to reach the desired dim level Values in the range 0 to 255 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 0.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_7_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 8: Kickstart / Rapid Start

Turn on or off rapid start feature Ensures that LED / CFL bulbs turn on when the preset dim level is low.  Enabling this feature may cause the lights brightness to momentarily be bright when the switch is turned on before reducing in brightness to desired level The following option values may be configured -:

Value Description
1 Off
2 On

The manufacturer defined default value is 1 (OFF).

This parameter has the configuration ID config_8_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 11: Minimum Dimmer Level

The minimum dim level the switch will allow

Values in the range 4 to 99 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 4.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_11_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Parameter 12: Maximum Dimmer Level

The maximum dim level the switch will allow

Values in the range 4 to 99 may be set.

The manufacturer defined default value is 99.

This parameter has the configuration ID config_12_1 and is of type INTEGER.

Switch All Mode

Set the mode for the switch when receiving SWITCH ALL commands.

The following option values may be configured -:

Value Description
0 Exclude from All On and All Off groups
1 Include in All On group
2 Include in All Off group
255 Include in All On and All Off groups

This parameter has the configuration ID switchall_mode and is of type INTEGER.

Association Groups

Association groups allow the device to send unsolicited reports to the controller, or other devices in the network. Using association groups can allow you to eliminate polling, providing instant feedback of a device state change without unnecessary network traffic.

The RF9536-N supports 2 association groups.

Group 1: Group 1

Association group 1 supports 5 nodes.

Group 255: Group 255

Life line to the controller

Association group 255 supports 1 node.
