Environment: across browsers on xPub and reviewer.

Likely cause: stale data - reusing initial data fetch for the submission / manuscript.

Notes: you need to use two tabs.

Issue 1 steps:

  • Start a new submission and get to the details page on tab 1. Avoid entering any data.
  • Open a new tab (tab 2) on the details page from the step above, and complete the details step
  • Go back to tab 1 and trigger autosave but typing in an input

Outcome: Changes from tab 2 are lost.

Issue 2 steps:

  • Start a new submission and get to the details page on tab 1. Avoid entering any data.
  • Open a new tab (tab 2) on details page from the step above, and complete the details step
  • Then on tab 2 complete the editors step
  • Now return to tab 1 and complete the details step and navigate to the editor step.

Outcome: the editors form will be empty despite already being completed by tab 2.
