CLI installation error

I'm trying to install dev-main with CLI but I keep getting the following error:

Installing linc/nitro-porter (dev-main 11d7eb4): Extracting archive 0/2 [>---------------------------] 0% Skipped installation of bin bin/porter for package linc/nitro-porter: name conflicts with an existing file

(the same happens with v3.3)

In ~/.composer/vendor/bin there is a porter executable of 3KB
In ~/.composer/vendor/linc/nitro-porter/bin there is a porter executable of 355 bytes.

Whatever I try the CLI command porter is unknown.

Any ideas?

Try this:

cd ~/.composer/vendor/linc/nitro-porter
composer global install
porter

I suspect you have 2 copies installed or someone else out there named their thing porter too.

I'd try rm ~/.composer/vendor/bin/porter to delete the one in your personal bin folder, and then run the commands again.

SOLVED: not sure why but this doesn't happen anymore :-)
