Hi,
here I have several point which could help adhocracy to make it more user-friendly. I need your platform desperately to start my project. Although it needs to be functional forthermore it should be also focused on intuitive use. So that is why I am very interested to help you developing it from a user perspective.
I am not criticizing! I only want to give constructive triggers.
I used adhocracy with my brother a few days ago just to get into the concept by using it and so I toke some note:

  • The button "Create a new group" should be bigger and surrounded by a colored box, so that you can find it easier. Its one of the main issues a user wants to use. But with this link ("Create a new group") it doesn't get enough attention.
  • As social media users we are also waiting for "notifications". Would be good if a notification is popping up on the username if something new happens. If I only get an email I have to "leave" the page to get this information that something happened. If its appearing in the platform would be definitely more catchy and a motivation to respond.
  • An other point which is linked to "notifications". If something new happened it should also appear highlighted. For example. The new "argument" could be softly surrounded by a little grey box until it was noticed by the user. That would help to get the user to know where he can get active.
  • An other proposal, the groups name is the headline and MAIN ASPECT of the interaction between users. This main aspect is very tiny for its big importance. Different colour? Different font? Different size? Or maybe all 3. colour-font-size?
  • A further topic would be the group description. It should appear directly under the groups name as a subheadline. Its like in an online news article. Headline, subheadline, text (here its the discussion) Thats what a user is looking for.
  • Last feed: The discussion with the argumentation would be easier to follow if you would simply surround the argument text with a bubble (like in an instant-messenger).

So thats it. I hope you can use my issue to get a better usability and so I can start my project with your help. :) Please let me know if you are open to change.
