Linking external libraries

How would I link an external library? I'm trying to add HTTP requests with cURL but am having a lot of difficulty with linking cURL.

luau does not support loading dynamic libraries from lua at runtime for safety + there will be problems with adding the library to _G when the sandbox is enabled.
If you want to add some library, then most likely you will have to include it in the process of compiling your application, and directly run the function of opening it before enabling the sandbox.

Also note that luau is not 100% compatible with lua 5.1 and you need to either look for libraries already adapted for luau, or do it yourself.

It's totally doable.

1. Have a technique to load dynamic libraries i.e. with dlopen and on windows
2. Then have a way to pass the luau native funcs to the dll i.e. using a technique similar to this
3. Profit.

I totally did it so it's possible but time consuming so be prepared for that. FYI it wouldn't be curl but you would be able to do requests, this lite-xl www plugin
