Be a Hero Ad Campaign

At this moment a large number of animals are waiting to be adopted in shelters. The Humane Canada stated that only 1:3 Canadians adopt animals from shelters. This data reflects a need for more animal adoption on shelters.

THE TORONTO HUMANE SOCIETY is a nonprofit organization in the animal welfare sector. Besides creating awareness in animal welfare, they create programs and provide services that improve animals’ lives.One of the services they offer is pet’s adoption from shelters. It is a joyful and compassionate brand.

The goal of my campaign is to encourage people to adopt a pet from a shelter as their first choice when acquiring a new pet. It is to make people understand that when you adopt you are saving a life which improves that pet’s quality of life while helping end shelter’s pet overpopulation. To increase the rate of animal’s adoption from shelters.

This AD Campaign was made as a fiction campaign as an assignment for Humber College.

The concept of my campaign was:

-

• To picture animals figuratively as heroes by drawing superheroes’ doodles on the animals.

-

• To address the adopter as the animal’s real hero with the tagline “You can be a HERO too”.

-

•To use big cities as a background, just like we see on super heroes’ stories. Each of the ads will tell a different story, the rabbit looking over the city, the dog flying towards the danger to protect the city and the cat after accomplishing his mission to protect with the city far on the background with a sunset setting.

• To use a youthful, cute and trendy style with colors and elements that matches the brand’s image while creating an emotional connection with the audience. -To add an animal related word play with a design similar to action bubbles from comic books, with the aim to be funny and relatable to comic books.
