Compatibility with Mysql MariaDB 10.4

Q:
I’ve a question, I’ve a server with Mysql 5.6 and a Luya website (created in 2017).

Don’t know which version of Luya it is… and now on the server there is a new website needing the MariaDB 10.4

Do some of you know if this Luya website would be compatible with the MariaDB 10.4 version? to update Mysql version.

A:
I am unable to answer that question with a guarantee. but:

• Ensure you upgrade to latest luya version, otherwise we can not say anything regarding compatibility
• In general i would say: I think this should work …
• Make a backup before update 😉
• Test the mariadb 10.4 version in a docker environment first, if you are used to docker and docker-compose. Then you can test your database change first locally
