The server at packages.debian.org frequently stops responding, breaking the autogen for debian-sources that queries it for version information. Locally I have a tested and working patch to use an official .deb mirror instead. The stable branch has a different, slightly older kernel version picked up from this source relative to the other one; maybe that's just fine and even desirable.

This Issue exists simply to note the occasional occurrence of the autogen failing. Will make a PR with my patch when the tree regens again; currently a failing autogen is preventing complete testing.

The patched behavior is better. I'll make a PR to fix this in mark-testing in the next few days.
