Gives Error:

UnicodeDecodeError: 'ascii' codec can't decode byte 0xcc in position 464: ordinal not in range (128)

Seems like an invalid character in your file. Can you upload the file which causes the error?

The last material contains non ascii characters. If you change the name it should work. I'll have a look on how to support utf8.

Thanx for the reply. The original file is a 3ds and not my own model so i only imported it in ac3d modefied some geometries and than exported it to get some shadow maps in blender. Now i know what went wrong
