the taxonomy.tab used by ktImportTAXONOMY is based on NCBI taxonomic IDs. While this is great for standard NCBI-based DBs, sometimes we have to rely on alternative DBs: MGBCdb (mouse gut bacterial catalogue) or GTdb (genome taxonomy). Those DBs have their own taxonomic IDs and the taxonomy.tab of ktImportTAXONOMY does not translate their taxonomy properly.
I was wondering if there is documentation somewhere with instructions of how to create a taxonomy.tab for other databases, or at least what the taxonomy.tab table columns are.
