T4HE Requirements

You will need the following in order to get started with Tasmota Manager for Habitat.

  1. A Tasmota device running Tasmota 7.1.2 or later. (See the following guide for information on how to convert a device to Tasmota.) Certain devices might require features from a more recent version. If you do not wish to use the Hubitat version of Tasmota you can skip to item 2.

Note: T4HE offers Tasmota firmware with Hubitat enhancements which confers several advantages. Most importantly the Hubitat version ensures that any changes that occur directly on the Tasmota device (from an external source such as web page, buttons or sensors) will be immediately reflected in Hubitat. This is not true using standard Tasmota firmware. Secondly, using the Hubitat version provides a faster communication method and increases responsiveness of the device. If you wish to use the Hubitat enhanced Tasmota you can find the links below. Using these is recommended but not required.

In each case, download both the tasmota-minimal-XXX.bin and tasmota-hubitat-XXX.bin. Read the specific installation notes on each link. Upgrading to these versions follows the same process you have used for prior Tasmota upgrades. First you upgrade to tasmota-minimal (do NOT use this version with Tuya Convert!), after install and reboot you will upgrade to tasmota-hubitat-xxx.bin. If the upgrade is successful you will see something like this at the bottom of the main screen.

  1. A Hubitat Elevation hub with software version 2.1.7 or later. Check your version in Hubitat Elevation via Settings\Hub Details.

  2. Tasmota for Hubitat Elevation (T4HE) code. You can find the current release of Tasmota for Hubitat Elevation (T4HE) here on Github. You do not need to download this in advance. The installation section includes an import URL to simplify things.

  3. Tasmota Universal Driver code. You can find a copy of the Tasmota Universal Parent Driver here on Github. You do not need to download this in advance. The installation section includes an import URL to simplify things.
