3.1.5

Windows version, edition, and architecture

Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26100 Build 26100

Describe your issue

All applications that I try to uninstall via UniGetUI show a message saying “Uninstall succeeded,” but the apps are never actually removed. According to the logs, there’s a COMException with GetApplicableInstaller when UniGetUI attempts to gather operation parameters for the uninstall.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Launch UniGetUI
  2. Select any installed package
  3. Click on Uninstall.
  4. Observe that UniGetUI reports “Uninstallation successful,” but the software remains installed.
  5. Check logs → see a COMException in GetApplicableInstaller

Relevant information

  1. Directly running winget uninstall <AppID> in PowerShell works as expected and removes the app without any errors.
  2. Installing new apps and upgrading existing apps via UniGetUI works fine; only uninstallation fails.

Can confirm, same behaviour here, Windows 11 Pro 10.0.26100 Build 26100

This issue was actually fixed on #3070

I just fresh installed Windows 11 24H2, fully updated it and I have this exact issue:

UniGetUI says that packages were uninstalled but when I refresh Installed Packages they are still there. Tried latest release and also latest Beta and same behavior happens.

EDIT:

by installing latest Beta, restarting windows and then running UniGetUI as administrator, I was able to uninstall packages.
