Thank you for actually doing this, really nice start indeed. Also thank you for mentioning me on the mod page. =)
I did notice that many items still fill the hotbar from left to right when picked up, most notably crocks, pots, bowls, placeables from the RA which I tested because I had them right at hand, ores and other small things in display cases and berries from bushes. With the berries it's actually a good thing as you can hold RMB to pick more and not eat them but it is there. For them it's a question of consistency or convenience to include them or not, all the others should imo be included.
I have no clue about C# so I have no idea how you did it but I hope you didn't have to include items individually. But I find it curious that it works with stones and firewood and such but not crocks and bowls (which are my primary reason for suggesting this mod functionality).
