The main index page at matrix.org has a header announcing The Matrix Conference:

matrix org_ (2)

However, the yellow background makes it look like a site downtime warning or something to that effect 😄 (Also the light blue links have poor contrast against the light yellow background)

Might I suggest something like this?

matrix org_ (1)

or this, using the pattern background found at 2024.matrix.org:

matrix org_ (3)

I'd be happy to submit a PR after discussing what would be best.
