Editing the note file in Layouts skews the page

I've been trying to make a few changes to the note page in Layouts. Even when I just edit simple text like the words about the graph, I lose all the formatting.

I've edited by opening in Text Editor.

Is there any way I can make minor tweaks without losing the layout.
