Dashboard "New account" button

For multiple times, I connected to my Maybe instance to add transactions, and miss clicked on the "New account" button in the dashboard page.

Is it not more logical to have a "New transaction" button instead of "New account" on this page? I think a user will create new transactions the most, and new accounts not so often. What is the purpose to have a quick "New account" button instead of "New transaction" ?

@mamarguerat appreciate the feedback! I get how it may be more logical to have transactions if you're using it that way, but the Dashboard is meant to be almost like an overview/roundup of all of your accounts, so the related action there would be to "Add a new account"

Adding a new transaction is something that you can do in multiple instances such as the Transactions view and within every single account view.

All this being said, I did had an iteration where I combined the "New account" and "New transaction" actions in a single button, but this felt a bit awkward for just two actions (would make more sense if there's > 2 actions)

I think at some point further down the line I will be revisiting the dashboard as there were some things that we had to scope out, and if more community members agree, we'll consider it :)

I understand what you had in mind for the dashboard page. I disagree that the related action would be to "Add a new account" with the current dashboard.
We have a good overview of all the accounts in the account page. The dashboard as it is now is more like an overview of the accounts state. It is not a transaction page, nor an account page, but both of them together. Furthermore, there is the "Transaction" widget and the comming "Recurring transactions" and "Categories" widget, which is directly linked to transactions. All the graphs on the dashboard page shows the consequences of adding transactions.
The combined button looks great! But again, from a user perspective when using the app, what is the most useful button to be accessible from the landing page? A "New account" button that will be useful at the beginning and then not so much? A "New transaction" that will be used daily (except with the bank linking, but not all banks allows external tools to get transaction information)? Or a combo button that adds an interraction just to keep a not-so-much-needed "New account" button?

This is my point of view, and how I would use Maybe. I hope that I'm not the only one thinking like that and other community members will share their point of view and use cases.
