Chrome Browser Extension no longer supported

The Google Chrome Browser Extension used to be available here:

And information at the Zabbix website was available here:
https://share.zabbix.com/cat-notifications/zabbix-notifier-for-firefox-chrome

Now I see a notification in my browser at the extension settings screen saying:
"This extension may soon no longer be supported"

This probably has something to do with Google ending the support for Manifest V2-browserextensions.

Thankfully the extension still functions as desired.
I like it very much.

Are there any plans to keep supporting this extension in the Chrome browser?

If not, is there an alternative functioning in a similar way?

I did start a branch a while back to convert to use manifest v3. At the time firefox and chrome weren't agreed and didn't support the same abilities making support for both browsers more difficult than it should have been. I suspect a lot has changed since then, so I'll take a look once more.
