Can I make cycles run as a server and send requests from my application to perform tasks like rendering and baking?

What file/folder are srever and cubin refrenced in?
generaly cubins are binary files used by CUDA.

As to your second question, you can theoretically run cycles as a server (but you would need to write some more code), this already exists in the form of render farms, there are even free ones out there such as sheep-it.
