The only time I did that was when I was an Ohio linux fest using a PS3 controller with sixad. I wonder if there is a system message to catch. That's a tough one

[Offtopic] I've setup RetroRig for a co-worker of mine! Handover was yesterday. I had everything prepared on an external HD (Ubuntu 14.04 and RR 0.9.7). His MSI gaming laptop was first a problem, I guess because of the proprietary Nvidia drivers that I had used before. The bare installation DVD was also crashing on his machine. But I finally managed to boot from the external HD via the recovery boot option and to install fglrx/catalyst for his Radeon card. His XBox360 wireless controller was supported out-of-the-box, so eventually the handover was successful. :-D
