AWS S3 Config Setup

  1. Create a bucket and set this settings- i) Permissions > Bucket policy:

ii) Permissions > Cross-origin resource sharing (CORS):

  1. Install 'python-decouple', 'boto3' and 'django-storages' packages

  2. Add 'storages' to INSTALLED_APPS in settings.py file

  3. Add credentials to .env file like this -

AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID= YOUR_AWS_ACCESS_KEY_ID
AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY= YOUR_AWS_SECRET_ACCESS_KEY
AWS_STORAGE_BUCKET_NAME= YOUR_AWS_STORAGE_BUCKET_NAME
AWS_STORAGE_BUCKET_REGION=YOUR_AWS_STORAGE_BUCKET_REGION
USE_S3=True
  1. Add these lines in settings.py file -
USE_S3 = config('USE_S3') == 'True'

  1. create storage_backends.py in 'core/' and add this line in the storage_backends.py-
