Optimizer fails with negative bounds

I'm solving a problem with a combination of both positive and negative values in the upper and lower bounds for the Design Variables. The depiction of the bounds can be seen in the picture attached. Points in orange are my lower bound and blue are my upper bound. The problem is that you can set positive values as it is, but I would like to know if there is a way to set points in negative coordinates to represent as the lower and upper bounds corresponding to positive values.
