How to dynamic change content?

Hey there,

I'm having a bit of trouble with markdown formatting. You know, when you use "##" to create a heading 2 (h2), but after typing it and hitting space, nothing happens. I thought the editor would automatically switch to heading 2 mode, but it doesn't. Any idea why this might be happening? Thanks for any help you can offer!
