Remote desktop (RDP) access can be a pain when doing a lot of interactive data exploration. What options are there?

  • copy data files to local PC
  • "mount" projects-folder and access the data via the network (but without explicit copy)
  • some ultra-fancy, totally remote-able solution

Instructions on wiki on how to mount network-folders already exist, make M/EEG-Category page with links to these (for easy access).

x2go all the way -- indistinguishable from the console on a fast internet connection, still works ok on a relatively crappy connection
