Roles & Responsibilities

Editor

The editor is responsible for the overall content, structure, organization and presentation of the documentation. The editor is also responsible for preparing updated translation template *.pot files for use by the translators, and for publishing the documentation. The editor provides reviews of proposed changes, and approval with respect to those identified responsibilities.

Reviewers

Reviewers are responsible for helping to ensure the quality of the documentation, both from a technical perspective and grammatical perspective. Reviewers provide reviews of proposed changes, and approval with respect to their areas of expertise.

Translation Lead

The translation lead is responsible for the translation of the documentation from the base language of English into another language. There is a translation lead identified for each supported language. One person can serve as the translation lead for more than one language provided they are fluent in each of the languages they are leading. The translation lead manages the overall translation process for their language, including reviewing and approving the translations provided in the *.po files.

Translator

Translators are responsible for translating the documentation from the base language of English to another supported language. The work of the translators is coordinated by the translation leads.

Content Contributor

Content contributors are responsible for providing changes (additions, corrections and deletions) to the documentation. Contributions are submitted via pull requests, and are applied to the documentation’s base language of English. Content contributors are also responsible for working with reviewers to ensure a quality product by responding to comments and requests related to their pull requests.
