Hi everyone,

As the creator of sphinxcontrib-mermaid, I’ve been thrilled to see the project widely adopted by the community. Unfortunately, I’m no longer able to be as responsive or dedicate the attention it needs. I’m reaching out to find new maintainers who are passionate about interested in this project and can help drive it forward.

If you’re interested in contributing and taking on a more active role, please respond to this issue. Your support would be greatly appreciated!

@timkpaine feel free to push a new tag to make a public release to pypi whenever you consider
It's automated via
https://github.com/mgaitan/sphinxcontrib-mermaid/blob/master/.github/workflows/release.yml

I don't know if we should refactor that workflow to use proper github "releases" instead simple tags.

I can help too. I am probably the wrong person for a leading maintainer (way too many projects already on my fingertips), but from time to time I can help with PRs/releases and step in.

@jensens excellent. @timkpaine is already preparing a 1.0 in #153 . Probably you can help taking a look there.

To ease continuity in the future, it might be worth thinking about donating the project to the sphinx-contrib organisation at https://github.com/sphinx-contrib/ (see https://github.com/sphinx-contrib/github-administration for details on how). It might make it easier for multiple people to take part in maintenance without it being such a commitment.

Plone Documentation depends on this package, and I can commit to participate with documentation maintenance.
