Greetings,

For information, there is an open Debian Bug#1018407 in which it is question that nosetests will be removed from Debian, as nosetests has become an unmaintained project for a long time. For what it's worth, I begun devising on a patch to move to pytest, which you can freely make use of, if you like. If you think this seems interesting, I can attempt to wrap up a proper merge request, but there are a few alternatives and I thought you might like other options (also the patch may be missing some nose invocations in code sections which we don't use for testing on our infrastructure).

Specifications are as follows:

  • Debian 12 bookworm (still in testing stage at t time)
  • Python3.10 3.10.8
  • Python3.11 3.11.0
  • Nose 1.3.8
  • Pytest 7.1.2

Have a nice day, :)
Étienne.
