Description
About MSIdentityTools:
The Microsoft Identity Tools is an open source PowerShell module built by the Microsoft Entra Customer Experience Engineering team and provides various tools for performing enhanced Identity administration activities built on top of Microsoft Graph PowerShell.
Goal:
Port existing commands from the MSIdentityTools module into the Entra PowerShell module.
Current Challenges:
MSIdentityTools lacks a dedicated support team, product group team ownership, and telemetry instrumentation is also missing, posing challenges for customers due to the unpredictability of the product evolution, roadmap, bug fixes, and support.
Why it matters:
Moving MSIdentityTools to the Entra PowerShell module is a strategic step to improve the customer experience and provide a more predictable product roadmap. It is backed by business investment, dedicated support, and funding for development and documentation.
