Problem with lab 3-1

Hey guys, nice book, just started reading it and I really like it.

Currently I have a problem with Lab 3-1. When I launch Lab03-01.exe, it is only opened for 2 seconds and then it closes itself. In Detailed Analysis in Lab 3-1 Solutions section you said "We begin by clicking Lab03-01.exe in the process listing and select View > Lower Pane View > Handles".

The problem is that process Lab03-01.exe is visible only for a few seconds in the process listing in Process Explorer after I launch it. Here's a demonstration:

How did you make it so it doesn't disappear from process listing in Process Explorer, to be able to analyze it in Process Explorer after Lab03-01.exe has been closed?

Or maybe it's because of Windows 10? I can't even find vmx32to64.exe in C:\WINDOWS\system32\.

As mentioned in the README, some of the malwares are targeted to WindowsXP and will fail or behave differently if you run them on other environments. I think that's your problem.

Is there any description as to why? I understand that they will fail or behave differently, but why is that?
