I've been experimenting with this and it takes about 30 minutes to provision and setup everything. It might be worth investigating making our own post-provision image to speed this up but I'll leave that for another time

See mitodl/edx-sga#194 for similar work done on edx-sga. In addition to that we will need to create and setup the demo course and do related provisioning

I think this particular issue is moot now, since we aren't using Travis any more.

I believe @umarmughal824 has been working to set up github actions for testing with edx-platform in mitodl/edx-sysadmin#26. If that's something we should pursue for this project as well, please open an issue.
