Personally, I have the 'Edit Game Details..' moved to the monitor of my backglass. This way, I can look at it in the right orientation, standing in front of my cab. When the dialog is shown on the playfield screen, it's 90° rotated.
Every time, that the 'Edit Game Details..' dialog loses focus, e.g. by switching to another program, or clicking into another window, the dialog disappears behind the PinballY backglass window and can hardly reached again. The user has to do combinations of 'Alt + Tab' in order to force it getting in front again. Even then, it needs a mouse click into the window title bar of the dialog, otherwise it switches to the background again.

After I started up PinballY, I then moved my cursor to the backglass ( I have a cabinet as well, with BG, DMD, and Table each having their own monitor). Then I right clicked on the backglass and there was an option to hide it. I clicked on that and the backglass disappeared. Please give this a try and let me know if this solves your issue.
@pinballguy66 Thank you for the hint.
I know that there are a few ways how you can work around the issue.
However, the goal should really be that PinballY avoids overlaying its dialogs with its own windows.
