LittleFS

Hi.
It's my understanding that SPIFFS is deprecated and that use of littleFS is recommended. littleFS is supported in both ESP8266 and in ESP32, hence I have been using littleFS in my various sketches.
However, in ESP-Mail-Client, SPIFFS is used.
I have edited ESP_Mail_FS.h to change this default to littleFS, however every time I get an updated version of the library, I will have to try to remember to do this edit all over again.
Is it possible to fix this issue in an upcoming release to use whatever file system the sketch happens to be using?

I know this is inconvenient but this is the what user should understand and should manually install the library in case of some configuration files are included.

This is not only this library that contains the config files that will be replaced when updated, other libraries are the same.

Adding header file in user sketch may not work which depending on the compiler.

Adding extras compiler flags in Arduino IDE may be difficult and can't be applied to only a specific sketch.

Then it is the user responsibility to backup this library config file and replace with the custom version when user update the library.

For ESP32, due to ESP32 SDK v1.0.x has no LittleFS included in its core library, change the default flash filesystem to LittleFS required some extra work and I will consider to change this in the next update.

Now you can use this ESP_Mail_FS.h which LittleFS was set as default flash filesystem for ESP8266 and ESP32 (core v2.0.x) and it will be used in the next update too.

The library was intensively tested for many filesystems types and everything works normally and not need to do like you said.

And yet - this is what I observe. If I don't call littleFS.begin after processing an email with attachment, then I cannot do any file operations in the rest of my sketch. Given your comment - I must admit to being confused. I probably need to investigate more.

That's is your fs instance which you should define to use in your code.

Library allows user to choose filesystem for it. Library created another fs instant for working internally instead of user usage.

Sorry for no flash filesystem example as it is removed and focus on SD.

If you ever use the older version of library you will find the SPIFFS examples that user needed to mount it for his code separately.
