Static images, such as icons should also go in the app folder and be copied to the build folder by Gulp. We can add in tasks to automatically optimise them, and also automatically combine the svg's

Agreed I think Yeoman has a generator that has some of this tasks I’m going to take a look and add some of this as well.

I think we can start using the code without this, we can just place images in the www/img folder for now.
