Apparently all that needs to happen is for an expired SSL certificate to be renewed. Don't know if that means yours or the Piper Voices developer guy. I am not a programmer, so I really don't know for certain, but I think once that is done, Piper Voices will download again. |

Today, I re/installed the Sonata TTS NVDA add-on, and I was able to download the voice I wanted. It's the Librits_R medium voice pack. I was able to download it, but now, I can't get any of the buttons in the NVDA settings menu to work, and I do not have the option th change the voice speaker. When I go to the NVDA speech menu, I am able to change the synth to Sonata, and under the voices diolog boxx, I have the voice, but the very next tab over is the O.K button and there is no option to chuse a different speaker. So now, it almost works, but not quite. I nolonger get the download failed error, or the SSL Certificate error. |

Update! I reverted back to Piper Voices V2.0 Beta as I still have the installer. Now I am able to chuse a voice, and I have the "variant" button, and the "speaker" combo box. |

Today, I thought I would try reverting NVDA back to v2024.1, the version of NVDA that I was running last July when Sonata v3.0 first came out. I wondered if the voice manager would behave like it did. But there were still no buttons for picking whether I wanted the standard or the fast download, pitch, rate, etc. and there was no way to chuse a different speaker for the voice packages that have more than one. The voices talk very fast, and there is no way to slow them down. They worked right last July 22 when the v3.0 version first came out, what has changed? I am now back to running my NVDA v2024.4 RC1, and Piper voices v2.0 beta. That works just fine. |

I thought I would try to install Sonata Neural TTS voices v3.0 Beta1 and then update. When I tried to update to Sonata TTS v3.0 Beta2, I got a "failed to install error. Now I can't remove the addon either. I re-installed NVDA v2024.rc1, and installed Sonata Neural TTS Voices for NVDA 3.0 Beta1. It works great, but will not update. See above in this thread for log files. |

I have Sonata Neural Voices v3.0 up and running right now,and I am using it to write this message. It is working great. I will leave well enough alone and await the next release and then update. I really don't want to lose these better voices for NVDA. Keep up the good work. |

I am getting this error when attempting to download voices, the error is "download failed, check your internet connection." I know my internet connection is good, and I'm running the latest stable version of NVDA, I think is 2024.4.1. |

Still unable to download voices, is there a timeline for when we will be aboe to use them again? |

Hi all, For those of you who want to use the Piper voices, read further up in this thread. You will note that I installed Piper Neural TTS v2.0 Beta, and the voices worked great! Now, I have the Sonata Neural TTS voices addon v3.0, and the Librits_R voice pack, and the voices work great, and I am able to use all of them. Perhaps it's the SSL issue again, check your log file. |

I've tried following the instructions above but none of them work for me, the "Piper Neural TTS v2.0 Beta" complains that it is incompatible and does not show the voice installer. How are you getting this to work? I also need to make clear instructions as I am trying to make my Welsh voices available to blind users. |

I am not a programmer, so I have no idea what is happening.
When you open the Addon store menu, is there a check boxx nexxt to the
Piper voices v2.0 Beta name that overrides the incompatibillity check?
If so check it, and then try restarting NVDA.
All I know is I did not get that error with NVDA v2024.4RC1 which I was
running at the time.
Now I am running NVDA v2024.4.1.
My voices are still working.
That's all I know.
As you may read further up in this thread, I am leaving well enough alone
and awaiting a new release of Sonata.

am running the latest build of NVDA, v2024.3.1.
My voices worked fine until I wanted to remove the voice I had and install another voice.
When I went to install the other voice I wanted, I got the error message download failed, make sure you are connected to the internet.
And when I tried downloading the voice I had before, I got the same message.
I tried un-installing and re-installing the addon but to no avail.
Is the server down?
