The tool currently only recognizes separate verbs, but no verb groups. For example: "Ik heb lekker geslapen", where the verb group then becomes "heb geslapen" as a combination of a hulpwerkwoord and voltooid tegenwoordige tijd. This lead to the following problems:

  • In case of the 'action table', each time only one verb is linked to the subject . However, the word that is shown as the subject in that action table is often not the subject of the 'action'.
  • In addition to distinguishing between active and past tense, we would also want to distinguish between active and *passive sentences based on their combination of verbs. For example:
[active] Volgende week staken bijna alle leerkrachten.
[passive] Volgende week wordt er door bijna alle leerkrachten gestaakt.

passive sentences often contain the auxiliary verb 'worden' or 'zijn' (the sentence is then about the past).
