Project fails for newer versions of Electron, Typescript

As with virtually all such examples, this one fails at runtime with "Uncaught ReferenceError: require is not defined". There does not seem to be any trivial and secure way to fix this. (Without doing something like enabling nodeintegration or disabling contextisolation, for instance)
