The absolute-gyroscope's axes seem not to be orthogonal, which makes them pretty useless. I've only checked axis 2: "vertical" seems correct, while "horizontal" does in fact not measure the horizontal direction component, but is about 30 degrees off.

I agree, that test cases should be added to the gyroscope sensor to verify its behavior. Up to now, I did not have this problem, but maybe it is dependent on the configuration (e.g. the axis description or a local rotation)...
Please, someone add this to the list of classes to be tested with test cases.
