We've opted to merely disable the Django admin UI by default in v4.0, to provide a migration path for plugins that still utilize the admin UI to function with NetBox v4.0 and later releases. |

As proposed in FR #12325, we are currently planning to completely remove the Django admin UI in NetBox v4.0, which is due to be released in April. (NetBox itself removed most of the admin UI functionality some time ago, however plugins still commonly utilize it.)
This proposal seems to have garnered significant support with no opposition thus far. However, I wanted to bring this change into the spotlight a bit to elicit any concerns from people who may not yet be aware of the change. I'm primarily interested in hearing from the maintainers of any NetBox plugins which currently rely on Django's admin UI for significant functionality.
The recommended migration path for any plugins which still utilize the Django admin is to simply move these views to supported plugin views so that they are accessible via the normal user interface.
Now is your opportunity to register opposition if you have any. If the change proceeds in v4.0 without any legitimate objections having been registered before the release, it will not be reversed. Thank you!
(To avoid bifurcating the discussion, please add any relevant comments to FR #12325 rather than to this thread.)
