Trying to connect to debian bookworm, screen stays black for 2+ minutes, then I see an error popup

I have a local debian bookworm VM with very similar setup that works but I could not find the problem on the remote debian bookworm VM.

I get a similar popup to this, the user is shown on mine:

Could it be that I need to install something more than xfce4? I tried running xfce4start using a putty console, but I am getting this error:
/etc/X11/xinit/xserverrc: 3: exec: /usr/bin/X: not found
Do I need to install X and start it from a console before xrdp can login? I did not have to do this on my local VM.

Ok, I was able to figure out that it was missing the xorgxrdp package to work.
I was able to login now. Hopefully it will help someone else.
